SUMMARY:Nature Reconnection: Cultivating a Deeper Bond with the Earth
DESCRIPTION:Embark on a transformative 5-day journey designed to reignite your connection to the natural world. Through enriching nature activities\, reflective practices\, and hands-on learning\, you will reconnect with the wisdom of the land and your own intuitive self. You’ll leave with a deeper sense of purpose\, a renewed kinship with Nature\, and a wealth of knowledge and practices to carry with you into your everyday life. \nDay 1: Apprenticing Ourselves to Nature – We immerse ourselves into Nature’s teachings by learning to observe\, deeply listen\, and open up all of our senses during guided nature walks and forest bathing. Reflective journaling\, creative art-making\, and group sharing will deepen your experience\, allowing you to weave together your insights and discoveries. \nDay 2: Wild Green Superfoods – We begin with a brief lecture on the nutritional and medicinal properties of wild plants. Meandering through field and forest\, you’ll discover the abundance of wild food. You’ll learn to safely identify\, harvest\, and prepare wild plants into delicious dishes and beverages\, leaving you with a deep appreciation for nature’s edible pantry and medicine chest. \nDay 3: Rewilding Ourselves – Today is dedicated to the process of rewilding. What is it and what does it mean to each one of us? Through forest bathing and plant connection exercises\, we tap into our deep\, intuitive connection to the wild. Art activities and journaling will anchor our experiences and help us explore more deeply what it means to reconnect with our wild essence\, remembering who we truly are beneath the surface of modern domestic life. \nDay 4: Excess and Abundance – We examine the themes of excess and abundance. When and how does abundance lead to excess? What is enough? We’ll look at how these themes show up in our lives and how they affect our relationship with the Earth. Through dialog\, creative activities\, and mindfulness practices\, we will cultivate a new understanding of balancing enoughness\, excess and abundance in our lives. \nDay 5: Reciprocity – On our final day\, we will explore how we can give back to nature in a respectful\, mindful way. You will craft personalized sustainable practices that make sense foryour unique life circumstances. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of your role in the natural world and take away practices and insights that will continue to nourish you and the Earth long after this workshop ends. \nStudents should bring a notebook for journaling and clothing and shoes appropriate for being outside (hat\, walking shoes\, insect repellant) \nRegister here
