SUMMARY:Backyard Foraging Class
DESCRIPTION:Discover the abundance of edible and medicinal plants that grow in the lush bio-diverse region of Virginia’s Western Highlands.  Full-day classes are held from 10 am – 4 pm and cover the following: \n1.      The importance and ethics of foraging wild foods. \n2.       Finding and identifying the plants in their habitat. \n3.      Spending individual time with your chosen plant(s) and learning from them. \n4.      Harvesting the plant(s) you’ll be preparing. \n5.      Preparing/cooking your foraged foods. \n6.       Sharing your dish/beverage with the rest of the group. \n2026 Foraging Classes are scheduled for April 25 (Spring)\, August 8 (Summer) and October 10 (Fall). \nYou can take only one class or follow the seasonal plant cycles from spring through fall by attending all three classes. \nEach class costs $125 or all three classes for $300 \nCall or text 540-290-4033 for more info and to register.
